Tributes Pour In for Rob and Michele Reiner as Autopsy Reports Remain Under Wraps.

Well beyond 14 days following the shocking loss of celebrated filmmaker Rob Reiner and his partner, photographer Michele Reiner, friends and colleagues persist in remembering the duo.

‘Life is Pain Without You’: Cary Elwes Remembers His Director

Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's 1987 classic *The Princess Bride*, mentioned he finally felt able to express about his deep grief.

"Adequate time has gone by that I can at last put my grief into words," wrote Elwes, noting that his initial encounter with Reiner created an instant bond. "When we commenced sharing more moments together I understood this was someone I longed to have in my life."

The actor posted never-before-seen clips from the production, commenting that he could not remember "one day without laughter".

"The film is about affection, allegiance and giving. Things that Rob held dear. This is one of the many reasons he was the perfect person to guide it," Elwes wrote.

He went on to praise Michele Reiner, noting: "Claiming that they were a formidable pair would be an oversimplification. My heart still aches every time I think of you." He concluded with a phrase from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but living is anguish without you."

Martin Scorsese Recalls a Colleague and Comrade

In a distinct tribute, acclaimed director Martin Scorsese also honored Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.

"From the start, I loved being with Rob. We had a instant connection for each other. He was very funny and sometimes bitingly funny, but he was never the kind of guy who would take over the room," Scorsese wrote.

Scorsese pointed out Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the main character.

"He was skilled at improv with the best. He was a virtuoso at comedy, he worked beautifully with his co-stars, and he comprehended the emotional dilemma of his character," Scorsese noted.

Court Proceedings: Autopsy Reports Sealed

This week, a Los Angeles superior court judge agreed to bar the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, after an appeal from the local authorities.

A court order placed a restriction on the cases to restrict the public release of "all case details, evidence and photographs" connected to the active case.

The relevant authority had earlier stated their deaths were the consequence of murder, with a public database noting the cause as "multiple sharp force injuries".

Fallout and Commentary

In the wake of the deaths, public personalities shared different reactions.

Ex-President Donald Trump commented on the matter, providing controversial remarks that were broadly criticized by several commentators.

Podcaster Joe Rogan contributed his criticism to the detractors last week. Talking on his show, Rogan labeled the remarks as "disappointing" and suggested they revealed a worrisome absence of compassion.

Rogan ended by remarking that an adviser could have acted when the impulse to comment on the death was made.
