Barça to Host First Fixture at Partially Completed Camp Nou this Saturday
Barça revealed they are set to host at the still-under-construction Camp Nou on Saturday. The club will host the Bilbao team in La Liga two and a half years after they moved out for construction to commence.
“We’ve dreamed about the return. Now, it’s here. We’re back home. Back at Spotify Camp Nou.”
The stadium will not be at full capacity but 45,401 spectators will be allowed to watch based on approved permits. When completed, it will accommodate over 104,000 attendees, up from the previous 99,000. Officials confirmed recent additions comprise a renovated tunnel for players and new dressing rooms.
Stadium Testing
Barça organized a public practice on the home pitch in early November. The club said they were hoping for permission from Uefa to play their next home Champions League game facing Eintracht in December in the renovated venue. Previous fixtures took place at the Olympic Stadium.
