AC Shadows Reveals Bizarre AoT Collaboration for Thanksgiving
In a bizarre collaboration that defies conventional expectations, Ubisoft has unveiled an digital crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the popular anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost bonus story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Uncovered
According to the formal announcement, "An unusual encounter draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a new mission, where hints of forbidden rituals and terrifying changes reverberate through the obscurity." The storyline presents a "unusually dressed woman named Ada" who charges the pair with venturing into the Crystalline Cavern—a important location from Attack on Titan—to liberate her companion from a secret cult.
The mission centers on "strange experiments and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have unlocked the Yasuke character.
Iconic Locations and Changes
The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan recreated as the Crystal Cave. This important location was formerly where the Reiss royal family passed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The teaser ends with a striking moment showing a character, likely the prisoner, changing into a Titan that rises over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Items and Bonus Features
Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana alongside several items concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also contains in-store Attack on Titan item packs, including:
- Titan-inspired costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa costume for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Newest Free Story Update
This release also adds the game's newest no-cost story addition, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous quest partners Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic skills: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Enigma" also contains a new environmental puzzle that may finally explain some unanswered questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime franchises. The series earlier showcased a 2020 crossover story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Additionally, Valhalla informally contained a quest that unmistakably referenced the well-known series One-Punch Man.
