A Paris court has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the cyber-bullying of Brigitte Macron, the partner of France's leader, Emmanuel Macron.
The defendants faced charges of circulating untruths regarding her gender and sexuality, in addition to posting defamatory statements about the couple's age disparity of 24 years.
The court delivered suspended jail terms of a maximum of eight months to the convicted individuals. The detailed judgment has not yet been published.

This latest legal outcome in France comes as the Macrons pursuing a legal action for defamation in the United States of America against conservative commentator Candace Owens, who has also voiced comparable unfounded claims about the first lady's identity.
Their legal filing contends that Owens disregarded all credible evidence disproving her claim in favour of give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these assertions on her show and online platforms, and in March 2024 proclaimed that she would risk all her credibility on her belief that Mrs. Macron was born a man.
Brigitte Macron first met her current spouse when she was a teacher at his lycée.
